Anita Goldman
This homepage presents my authorship – presently 17 published fiction and non-fiction books – and my journalistic contributions to some of the major Swedish daily newspapers. I have been a byline columnist with Aftonbladet, the biggest circulation daily in Sweden. I have also contributed extensively on cultural criticism in that paper as well as in Dagens Nyheter, the biggest and most important morning daily newspaper in Sweden. I have also appeared frequently in Swedish public service television and radio, commenting on the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, and on issues of war and ethics and on spirituality in our times. I have lectured all across Sweden. I am invited by libraries, associations and churches. In 2020 I was awarded a honorary doctorship by the Faculty of Theology at the University of Lund, Sweden.
Today my texts deal almost exclusively with an interrogation into what I perceive as the deepest sources to our present planetary predicament; Western culture´s relationship – or lack of it – to Creation/Nature and to Soul. I am working on a more wide reaching book on these themes, with the working title: Det vilda hoppets geografi (The Geography of Wild Hope). As this work takes time, I do meanwhile publish parts of my investigation in Dagens Nyheter and in lectures/public talks. I find that an open attitude to my work – sharing my thoughts and insights and texts even before publication – leads to interesting encounters and new information and depths. I find it more fruitful than a more tightlipped or close-to-your-chest way on working – where the writer perceives him/herself as a lonely genius that will dazzle the world. I try to – by words and example – impart this to the participants in my writing workshops, that I hold – since many years now – in my big country house at the south-eastern tip of Sweden.
I have for many years dealt in texts and in Life with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict (especially an insider’s critic of Israeli society), as I lived for twenty years in Jerusalem and still have a daughter and grandchildren there. I have also written on moral and ethic problems of science, especially as regarding the atomic bomb and nuclear power, and general issues on ethics and morality in modern society, as well as issues pertaining to being a woman in a patriarchal society. From 1995, with the publication of God’s mistresses, my authorship as well as my journalistic contributions have been informed by a pronounced spiritual perspective.
There is unfortunately not much English language translations of my work, this is one example: http://www.swedishenglishtranslation.com/jwriting/goldman-e.htm
I do have some non-published English language translation of some of my books, in full or in parts.
My books have been translated and published in Danish and Norwegian.
Almost all of my books have been published by the major Swedish publishing house where I am presented with my more recent works .

I divide my time between my apartment in Stockholm and my big countryhouse Stjärnegården in Österlen at south-eastern tip of Sweden. My visits to Israel are frequent and prolonged.
